It is probably all those warm water beaches that got us all into scuba diving vacations in the first place. In these pages, I talk about scuba and snorkeling gear, but it is those scuba diving vacations, I personally look forward to.
Before you head out to the airport don’t forget to check out our:

When choosing a scuba vacation location, it is always best to get firsthand knowledge of the location and services from someone who has been there.
Stretching from Eilat and the upper Suez all the way to the Bab El Mandab (between Ethiopia and Yeman), the vast Red Sea is one of the world's most popular scuba diving spots: it offers a range of shallow coral reefs, fabulous visibility, warm water, and unique marine life.
One of the best (and most popular) spots in the Red Sea is Ras Mohammed, where you'll find all those impressive schools of Jack-fish, snapper, and batfish, dolphins and those social outcast predators:, sharks and hammerheads.
There are unique coral fingers that sit upon sheer cliffs and drops into the deep abyss. The fast moving upwelling brings food and fish with all the humor of running backwards on an escalator.
When we think of scuba diving in Asia, most people think of Thailand; it is the most accessible. The west cost of the Thailand peninsula offers some of the best dive spots in Asia, it is here and some of the off-islands that divers flock to every year. All of the Asia diving is your standard coral heads, sponge-encrusted reef, caves, and submarine swim troughs. The best scuba diving is found on the local live aboard diving cruises. It is hear were you can get up in the morning, eat breakfast and go diving again all while living in 3 star comfort. For the more adventurous scuba diver try more remote sites such as Borneo, Malaysia, or even Papua New Guinea.
When you think of Australia you must be thinking of thee Great Barrier Reef. One of the world's most popular scuba diving vacations is The Great Barrier Reef is the largest and most extensive reef system in the world. The waters are warm, but not a clear as you would expect. But id you love underwater life, this is the place for you. You will find Sharks, colorful fish, snails, coral, and more colorful fish. If you want Whale Sharks, than visit Ningaloo Reef on the Western side of the continent. I believe that Ningaloo Reef is even better the the Great Battier Reef. IMHO
With hundreds of island from the ABC islands, the Cayman islands, all the way down through Cozumel and down to the Bay islands, you will find some of the most secluded, warm and colorful fish in the world. One great idea is to sail the Caribbean, visit
Bitter End Yacht Club
Imagine an underwater park with visibility averaging over 100 feet and water temperature 78 – 84 degrees. Now place an island right in the middle of this underwater park. This is what diving in Bonaire is all about. Scuba Diving in Bonaire is like living in a dream.
If you visit the Cayman Islands, I recommend taking the live aboard cruise around the islands, from Cayman Brac, Grand Cayman, or Bloody Bay Wall, this is some of the clearest water in the world and here's a site to give you a taste for Grand Cayman scuba diving: Grand Cayman Scuba Diving.
From Europe, the shores are extremely popular with Scuba Divers. The Mediterranean is not as warm or colorful as the Caribbean, but it is close (if you live in Europe). The best scuba diving vacation I found in the Med. was the Greek Islands where it is fun on the beaches. The Europeans all claim that the best diving can be found in Malta. With visibilities up to 120 feet, they might be right.
KAUAI
The northern most island is also the oldest island in the chain. It is here you will find the famed Coconut Coast and Waimea Canyon
OAHU
This is the most populous island. Here is where you will find the state capitol. As a Scuba Diver I avoid the big waves, but if big waves are your fancy, then check out the North Shore. If you have time, visit the Pearl Harbor memorial and soak up the rays on Waikiki Beach.
MOLOKAI
Molokai is where the local Hawaiian people have preserved their love for the outdoors.
LANAI
No traffic lights on this island. Check out the Munro Trail for that romantic picnic.
MAUI
Maui is the second largest island in the chain. For more information about Maui,
check out this link.
HAWAII'S BIG ISLAND
Bigger than all of the other islands combined, the island of Hawaii, or Hawaii's Big Island.
The Seychelles and Maldives are probably the best scuba destinations in the world. There are 26 altos that have grown on top of dormant volcanic mountains. These altos host such a vast array of fish species (over 900).
The Galapagos, (which Darwin made famous studying finches) are a chain of 19 islands in the Pacific. This is Hammerhead heaven. Expect colder water, high currents and over 50 unique species, including the world’s only salt water iguana.
